Renovate with purpose

More Than New Finishes.

The strongest renovations solve the underlying problems in a home: poor layout, insufficient space, dated systems, limited storage, inadequate light and rooms that no longer fit the way the household lives.

Whole-Home Renovations

Rework multiple spaces as one coordinated project rather than a series of disconnected upgrades.

06

Bring the full property together with coordinated improvements inside and out.

The question behind the project

What Do You Want Your Home to Do Better?

Maybe the kitchen is too small. Maybe the family has outgrown the layout. Maybe you want an additional bedroom, larger living space, better entertaining areas, a home office or a stronger connection to the backyard.

ACE starts with the outcome. The renovation plan is then built around the property, the existing conditions, your priorities and the level of investment that makes sense for the project.

More Space
Additions and reconfigured layouts
Better Flow
Open, connected living areas
Updated Systems
Coordinate hidden infrastructure with visible finishes
Higher Function
Storage, light and everyday usability

Renovate, Add On, or Rebuild?

For major projects, the best answer is not always “renovate.” Sometimes an addition solves the problem. In other cases, a tear-down/rebuild deserves serious consideration.

ACE's planning tools are designed to help homeowners compare those paths before committing to a large project.

Budget clarity

Build a Preliminary Renovation Planning Range.

Renovation costs vary significantly because two homes of the same size can hide very different conditions. Structural work, mechanical upgrades, existing deficiencies, cabinetry, windows, finishes and scope all affect the final investment.

Use the ACE Project Cost Planner as an early scenario tool. It is not a quote, but it can help you think through size, finish level and major features before the site review.

Common questions

Renovation & Addition FAQs

Should I renovate in phases or complete the whole home at once?

It depends on the scope, budget, how connected the work is and whether future phases would require reopening finished areas. A coordinated whole-home plan can sometimes reduce duplication, but phasing may make sense when priorities or financing require it.

Can ACE help with structural changes and additions?

Yes. Major layout changes and additions are part of the renovation strategy. The project may require architectural, structural and other professional input depending on scope and municipal requirements.

Do I need permits?

Permit requirements depend on the work. Structural alterations, additions and many substantial changes generally require drawings and municipal approvals. The project should be reviewed before assuming a permit is or is not required.

Can I live in the house during the renovation?

Sometimes, but not always comfortably or efficiently. The answer depends on the extent of demolition, utilities, dust control, access, kitchens/bathrooms and the overall sequence. This should be discussed during planning.

How accurate is the Project Cost Planner?

It is intended as an early planning tool only. A meaningful construction proposal requires a defined scope, property review and sufficient design information.
